P&O Iona

Iona was added to the growing fleet in 2020. She is one of the bigger ships P&O have with, 5,200 guests and 1,800 crew.

Iona sails out of Southampton and mainly explores Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands, Norwegian Fjords and short breaks to northern Europe.

You have a choice of 14 restaurants on board and 19 bars and cafes on board. The gym on board is huge, it offers the latest gym equipment to train/workout on.

You don’t just have the theatre in the evening on the Iona as, the sky dome converts into a concert hall, for guest singers and a stage for acro performers too.

If you love watching the theatre then Iona has its very own cinema on board. It shows loads of different films throughout the day, evening and even when in port too.

The ship also has a splash zone for children of all ages where they can stand under buckets of water when they tip or they can use water hoses too. Its great to cool your little ones done and have fun.

Onboard they have a 710 club, which is a sophisticated bar with live music to relax to. The club was crafted for none other than Gary Barlow’s vision, of Atmospheric and low-lit causing an unmistakably vintage atmosphere. To make it even more magic the club sells stylish cocktails, and Gary Barlow’s organic wines. If you are lucky, you may be onboard when Gary Barlow is performing.

Iona is the first ship to have its own gin distillery on board. Marabelle Gin not only is distilled on board by gin experts, it is put into your cocktails as well as available to purchase across the fleet. This also allows you the unique opportunity to attend classes, where you can taste as much gin as you please.

If you are into fitness or dancing they offer exceptional classes on board, for all styles of dance as well as fitness classes too. The gym is modern with a large floor space, to do floor exercises or stretches. Perfect for those who like a challenge or fitness.

My time on the Iona was brilliant, although it was missing the intermate touch as the smaller ships, it had a lovely modern feel with large cabins and additional entertainment. A ship I would travel on if the itinerary stood out to me.
