Whether you have no children or want to take a break without the children, a cruise is a good way to do it. If you either want to read a book whilst sunbathing in peace, enjoy a spa day or let your hair down with your friends there are some cruise ships or alternate ways to do this child-free.

Most of the time when families are travelling, they tend to book short getaways or holidays in the sun. P&O offer cruises from 4 nights to 99nights, so there is a range of nights away to choose from. P&O also offer cruises in the school holidays too, this will also minimise the amount of children onboard during term time. Although not all cruises outside of school holidays are guaranteed to be child free, unless booking an adult only cruise. I will talk more about this later.
If you are wanting to let your hair down with your partner or friends, then dance into the night with a silent disco or join the late night party onboard. There is also a chance to enjoy a night of gambling in the casino, as well as watching live entertainment in the theatre. There is still plenty to do onboard even when you don’t have children.

If there is children on board and you want to sunbathe, or go for a dip without noise or being kicked in the pool, then The Retreat is a perfect area to do this. This is on all the ships across the fleet other than Aroura or Arcadia as these are both adult only ships. The Retreat is only 18+, stylish and modern, giving you the ultimate area to kick back and enjoy either a massage or dip in the pool. On the Arvia and Iona they offer the 710 Club which is exclusively for adults, allowing you to sit back and enjoy music in a rustic vintage atmosphere and dig in to delicious food.

If you want a guarantee to have no children onboard, then pick an adults exclusive cruise. P&O offer two ships called Aurora and Arcadia, both are not the newest of the fleet or the biggest however, they are small enough for you to experience a personal feel cruise whilst living in luxury. You can find both the Arcadia and Aurora travelling around on short breaks to Northern Europe to British Isles holidays or even on world cruises, they really do have the world covered.
