A day on board

There is a lot of stigma when it comes to cruises, and what to do on board on sea days. In order to get to your dream destination, you need to experience at least one day at sea. I am here to break the stigma and show just how much fun you can have.

No matter your age there is stuff to do throughout the day, P&O have carefully picked each and every activity to suit all lifestyles. From dance classes, seminars, bingo, films and more, the day will fly by no matter what you choose.

On the Arvia they have Mission Control which is the first multi-sensory immersive submarine simulation game across the fleet. There is a Minigolf to test your skills and make your golf improve throughout the cruise. If you want to become keen on heights then try the Altitude Skywalk, with views of the ocean it is a truly an experience you’ll never forget.

If you are wanting a more relaxed approach, you can head to the spa for a deserved pamper or, hit the sports bar to watch live sports games. The casino is open all day to give you a chance of winning a jackpot as well as, bingo on specific sea days. Being on shore isn’t the only chance to learn something, there are seminars through out the day with guest speakers such as, Marco Pierre White, there is really no true end.

Gyms are open 24/7, so you are never restricted to your workout time, if you are more sporty then the ship holds sports tournaments on board, such as 5 a side football or ping pong competition. Don’t want to compete? that’s fine, the sports deck is open 24/7 for you to access, and why not master a new skill with shuffle boarding.

Sunbathing is a must for all when on a tropical cruise, lay by the pool or take a dip and listen to the pool entertainment, with live bands, buskers or a DJ you can relax with your favorite music. There is also an afternoon quiz by the pool to test your knowledge, from a variety of topics such as music or film intros you never know if your knowledge is needed, (you don’t have to participate). If you are on the Azura, why not kick back by the pool and watch a film? Favorite blockbusters are selected and placed in the Horizon so you don’t miss them.

You will never go hungry!! Each ship has a buffet that’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as, the option for the grill bar or pizzeria next to the pool. Down in the restaurants they also offer breakfast and lunch too, with options to share the table with other guests or eat on your own. The Arvia and Iona have other options such as a Fish and Chip Shop or an American Diner to choose, your options are endless. Even cool down with an ice cream of your choice from the wide range on board.

There is so much to do and on each ship in the fleet they offer something different every day. You can never do the same activity twice if you don’t want too, you are truly spoilt for choice on board. Always check to make sure the ship you choose, offers you the best entertainment whilst on board. You’ll truly be shocked. If you’re not sure how to start you day then read my other post called ‘Perfect way to start the day’, or if you’re not sure how to end your evening on board, I have also written another post called, ‘What to do in the evening?’.
