Being able to use these in restaurants, bars and cafes on board, gives you a wide range of flexibility to put your feet up and relax.

Having been on lots of cruises myself, I have learnt the benefits as well as the negatives to purchasing a a drinks package. Being young when i first started we always had the refresh package, as we went through soft drinks like crazy however, now i travel on my own or with my mum I don’t get purchase drinks packages anymore. I am not a drinker other than a glass of red wine at night or an odd soft drink in the day. Adding this up i would loose money if i purchased any drinks package. Another negative is that if i wanted to buy the Deluxe package, I would then have to get my mum the same, she couldn’t get a different package as we share a cabin. Lastly if you both buy a Deluxe package, you have to use each cabin card when buying an drink that’s included, I wouldn’t be able to get 2 glasses of wine on my card even though we both have the package, I couldn’t also buy a drink for any friends i meet onboard either.

As i said at the beginning, drinks packages are different for everyone, my advice is to always make sure you will drink what’s included, and work out how much you’ll need to consume to get your monies worth. Do your research! Its never to late to book your drinks package even a day before your dream getaway or even onboard.
