One of the main worries when going on holiday is, forgetting to pack something that you need or is important. When going on a cruise for the first time, you may not know what to pack. Here is a short guide to help you.
There are some requirements you will need to do before you travel which are;
– Make sure you fill in all the information and it is up to date on My P&O Cruises page. You can log onto this with your booking reference, full name and date of birth.
– Once your details are completed you can print off your luggage labels and boarding passes up to 3 weeks before.
– Get the right travel insurance with cruise coverage. I have another post going into a little more detail.
– Make sure you are up to date and aware of any entry requirements for your itinerary. I have more details of this on another post.
– Pre-book and Shore Excursions, treatments in the salon or spa, book speciality resurants and other activities.

If you are travelling with family or a group, you can link your bookings via calling P&O directly or your travel agent if booked through them.
When packing there is a few important things to take with you. Pack a face mask and hand sanitiser, although covid has settled down infection is still a risk, and some countries may have a requirement to wear a facemask on public transport. If you want to dress up for our Celebration Night, then black tie evening wear is definitely a must to pack.

To board the ship or fly you will need the following items; a passport which is in date and valid, your boarding pass you can download from My P&O cruises. Evidence of appropriate travel insurance, this can be printed or on your phone. Documents required for countries on your itinerary.
If these documents are not provided or completed correctly then you may be denied boarding.

To get your boarding pass and luggage labels, you will need to fill out your online check-in via My P&O cruises. This is open for completion from 3 weeks before your embarkation date. Both of these will need to be printed to allow boarding.
You need to fill in; your booking reference, passport details, photo for each guest, preferred payment card. You will be requested to take £1 payment on the card chosen however, this will not come out until you board.
When it comes to making your holiday as memorable as possible, we recommend you book all onboard activities such as: seats in venues, spa and salon treatments, shore excursions, drink packages, and more. Even book a treat such as flowers, breakfast in bed or a bottle of champagne to celebrate.

When travelling from Southampton you will be made aware of the departure terminal either; Ocean Cruise Terminal or Mayflower Cruise Terminal. There will also be an allocated time of arrival to be able to make boarding quick and easy with no queues, you are asked to arrive at the terminal no earlier. Due to traffic if you arrive earlier, then you may be asked to wait outside or return at your allocated time. Times to embark are sorted by cabin status as well as loyalty tier, if you are Caribbean, Baltic, or Ligurian tier or if you have booked a suite, then this will also be considered when giving your allocation time.
