When travelling away from home, its always best to have travel insurance. You never know what will happen. So finding the best travel insurance that isn’t expensive, but offers the right cover is critical for a relaxing getaway. Insurance will cover you before your departure, your travelling and during your holiday.
When travelling with P&O as well as most cruise lines, it is mandatory to have valid insurance that covers specific requirements.

Always make sure these are covered in your insurance; a cruise holiday, all the countries you are visiting, the full length of your getaway. Make sure all medical history is declared otherwise, your claim may be denied as your insurance is invalid. Make sure your insurance includes medical and repatriation cover of £2 million minimum, this also includes cover for emergency evacuations as well as, full cover for pre-existing medical conditions. If you are planning more then one trip in a year, select an annual coverage or multi-trip cover, this will work out cheaper.
Getting the appropriate insurance cover is the passengers responsibility, failure to do so or provide evidence of insurance cover may result in denial of boarding, this will be at the passengers expense and not the cruise line. You can provide this when boarding via your mobile, or by printing the document out with the listed names due to set sail.

P&O have teamed up with Holidays Extra, they offer cruise specific travel insurance. They are easy to use with a straight forward booking system and an app, as well as offer affordable prices. Holiday Extras offer 3 levels of cover which are: Bronze, Silver and Gold. When I travel I always sue Holiday Extras for cover annually as it works out cheaper then booking cover per holiday. Also with the app its easy to access all my documents, make a claim on the go, and I can book an airport lounges, transfers or hotels all in one place.
When making a claim make sure you have evidence of this. P&O will deliver a letter to your cabin or email you, explaining what has changed or been cancelled. Make sure you keep this as you will need it to make a claim with any insurance company, otherwise your claim may get refused.
