Best cabins to book on the Avia

As I have cruised for 20 years on multiple ships with P&O, I have a good understanding of cabins I try to avoid as well as, cabins I will run to book. If you haven’t already read my post Arvia’s cabin break down, it is full of information regarding the types of cabins on offer and the cabin grade breakdown. I suggest reading that one and Cabins to avoid on the Arvia, then coming back. Now, lets jump straight in to the cabins you would want to book.

Cabins to snatch up =

Families =

When travelling with a family, it can be a hard decision to book a cabin which has enough room. The cabins which are perfect for families are;

– Inside Cabins (Larger).

– Outside Cabins.

– Deluxe Balcony Cabins.

– Conservatory Mini-Suites.

– Family Sea View Suites.

– Suites.

Majority of cabins all come with a spacious shower on the Arvia however, if booked in the Suites that are grades B4, B5 and B6, you’ll receive a shower and bath. If you are a family of five or more, you will need to book two cabins as, children ages under 16 are not allowed to stay in their own cabin so, you will need to chose a cabin that has interconnecting doors. This will need to be either two inside cabins or two balcony cabins however, certain forward suites do connect to inside cabins.

Best inside Cabins =

Whether you want to travel on a budget or you want to have as much money to spend ashore, the best inside cabins are the PF grades. To find inside cabins which are cheap and quiet, Deck 9 is the perfect location.

Best Outside Cabins =

If you want an outside cabin (known as Sea View cabins), then these are located on Decks 4 and 5. With windows to look out across the horizon, they are the perfect cabins for a touch of natural light. These cabins (5301 to 5321) are located near to the gym and spa so, you can wake up, hit the gym, and get pampered all in a short walk.

Best Balcony Cabins =

Always double check your balcony size when booking as some are larger then others, with no additional cost. The cheapest standard balcony grade is GF, and cabin 17219 has a L-shaped balcony. All balcony cabins are priced regarding the location on the ship (Forward, Mid, Aft), and not on the size of the balcony. Staying on Deck 17 cabins 17201 to 17217 are slightly cheaper as they are further forward on the ship compared to, 17301 to 17320. Always study the deck plans before selecting your cabin as all decks contain some larger balconies.

Here is the link to jump straight to Arvia’s Deck Plan: ArviaDeck_PlanW25-26_FINAL.pdf (pocruises.com). At the bottom of the page I have listed the largest balconies on the Arvia.

Best Suites =

Choosing the Suites situated at the Aft of the ship are possibly the best to choose from as, they have wraparound balconies which offers the best over the ship. If you are worried about feeling the movement of the ship, then id suggest Decks 9 or 10 Aft.

Solos =

I have been on a number of cruises as a solo and met lots of other solo travellers who enjoy different types of cabins. On the Arvia you have the choice of 10 Single inside cabins or 12 Single balcony cabins. Both of these offer a cost effective way to travel as a single cruiser. You do pay more than you would if you were sharing a twin cabin. Being quick is a must as thy always sell out fast however, you can always chose a double cabin for yourself as you can sometimes pay the same price.

Largest Balconies =

Deluxe =

9236 – 9239 – 9320 – 9321 – 10238 – 10245

Standard =

9714 – 9711 – 10320 – 10321 – 10525 – 10526 – 11242 – 11243 – 11320 – 11321 -11711 – 11712 – 12242 – 12255 – 12320 – 12321 – 12711 – 12712 – 14242- 14255 – 14320 – 14321 – 14524 – 14527 – 14711 – 14712 – 15242 – 15253 – 15316 – 15317 – 15526 – 15527 – 15711 – 15712 – 16242 – 16253 – 16320 – 16321 – 17219 – 17317 – 17320

These cabins are always hot so make sure you book them as quickly as you can. If you don’t get one of these, it doesn’t mean that you will have a terrible cruise. This just means you can refer back to this guide when booking your next cruise so you don’t miss out. Hopefully this has helped you finalise your decision. If you would like a more information as well as lists of cabins to avoid, I have written three other blogs to this one. These are; Arvia’s Cabin Breakdown, Cabins to Avoid on the Arvia, and Choosing a Cabin on Arvia .
