Memories Captured with Cruise Maps!

I came across an amazing company called The Cruise Maps. I wanted something that can capture my cruises whilst enhancing the memories made. The Cruise maps do just that! They are also a great conversation starter too.

If you are looking for a company which makes customised maps of your cruised itineraries, then The Cruise Maps are perfect for you. Using real satellite data, you will be getting a accurate reading on the ships course. With any changes such as; emergency stops, bad weather, missed ports, or unscheduled port visits, all will be marked on your cruise map.

I have an amazing map which was my first EVER solo cruise to Norway, we couldn’t dock in Haugesund so we had an extra night in Flam. So you wont see Haugesund on the map.

There are a number of options to choose from when ordering a Map. You can choose between, Landscape or Portrait and if you would like your map in a frame. There are two sizes to choose from, 30 x 40 cm or 45 x 60 cm. Every map includes a port label for every port that you stopped at on your cruise.

When choosing the frame option, everyone is hand-crafted to order by professional frames. Each frame is made from pine with a black finish and clear plexiglass. Choosing this option costs a little more, so I decided to purchase my own frame.

The design is not cluttered allowing you to view each location labelled clearly. If you would like your map to not have the port labels, you can opt out of this when placing your order.

I have been on so many cruises so, I have definitely got lots of orders to make. My walls will be full of these Cruise Maps!

How do you order?

Ordering is super straight forward… If my mum can do it then so can you!

The website is easy to use and straight forward. You will need these details when ordering your map and getting it personalised.

  • The name of the ship
  • The starting port
  • The date of embarkation
  • The ending port
  • The date of disembarkation

Only cruises taken after 2015 are available to order, however you can try to order cruises before this year but it isn’t guaranteed they will find it.

There is an option to add your very own title or personalised message to your map. I titled my cruise ‘My First Solo Cruise’ as, this was my very first solo holiday which kick started many solo cruises to be booked.

The Cruise Maps also can offer a very unique chance to include any special occasions such as; Engagements, Renewal of Vows, Special Birthdays or anything else. You just need to email hello@thecruisemaps.com with your booking reference and the event and location. This can be the perfect present too.

Shipping

No matter where you live or want to send your map, they ship globally at no extra cost! Depending on your location the delivery time can vary however, you can track your order with the link provided in your confirmation email. If in the UK/Europe/North America, it can sometimes be just 3 business days.

Payments

Using Shopify Payments, it is easy to use as well as having a certified, secure encryption, it is as safe as possible. The company do not store any card details on their end either. This is a popular choice for most “small” businesses.

Refunds

Having an option for refunds, it always gives a slight peace of mind when making a purchase. Whether there is a problem with the print, the ships route isn’t correct, or you are not happy with it (which is unlikely). You will receive a full refund.

If you decide to change your mind after purchasing your map, you will not be eligible for a refund. As the map is made specifically to your cruise route, it is unlikely they will be able to sell it to anyone else. If you need to discuss anything regarding your order, you can simply email them at hello@thecruisemaps.com.

How can they be so accurate?

Using the latest AIS Satellite technology, the positions of ships are updated every 15minutes allowing the position of the ships to be extremely accurate. The maps can only be created after the cruise has finished to allow more of an accurate reading. If you would like to pre-order your map, this is something you can do and the maps will be created and delivered straight to you once you disembark.

So if your ship helps on a rescue or you have to make a short stop at another port for a medical evacuation. Your map will reflect this.

Special Events

Recently the Cunard had the first Sailing of its very own Queen Anne, so The Cruise Map made a limited additional route maps for her. Being a great collectable for those who travelled on it or like collecting cruise memorabilia, it is just perfect.
