I tried the Thermal Suite onboard the Azura for he first time recently. I was on a fly cruise to the Canary Islands for 7 nights.

When we embarked we headed to the spa as there is normally a raffle and great deals on. We booked the Thermal Suite for the week, as well as a 50 minute massage which cost £140 (This was the price of a massage alone).

All cruise lines are different when it comes to the Thermal Suite so it is important to view any you haven’t seen before. This is to make sure you are happy with spending any money. Some cruise companies allow you to pay for a 2 hour slot either for a treat or a taster.

The Thermal Suite onboard the Azura houses; 4 steam rooms, 5 thermal beds, 2 shower facilities, toilets and towels to use. Upstairs you have access to the locker room and lockers which also has its own sauna and steam room for public access.

The suite is a great way to escape and unwind away from all the noise. Not many people use it at once and the reception staff are lovely in regards to attending your every need and question. Thy will advise you if it is busy and when to come back, but on sea days you do need to book a 2 hour slot.

Whilst onboard we utilized the suite as much as we could whether we were at port or we were at sea. It was perfect to not worry about finding a sunbed or putting up with the general noise. The down side to the suite was 2 of the steam rooms were not working so you could only use 2 of the steam rooms.
Another down fall was there was no music playing throughout the whole week, and where the beds are positioned you are staring at a plain wall. I believe the Thermal Spa onboard the Azura will benefit from a refurb and give it a face lift it deserves.

Myself and mum have never booked the Thermal suite and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We will book the Thermal suite again when next on board, mainly for colder holidays, however, if there was a pool within the Thermal Suite, such as onboard the Iona or Britannia, then we would consider booking again whatever the weather/itinerary.
