Azura’s refit in March

I have just come back from my Canaries cruise which was on the Azura and I absolutely love her, she has something for everyone and it a perfect size for intimate cruising.

Azura is known to be hosting her passengers in sun filled destinations such as; The Greek Islands, The Canaries, The Mediterranean and more. Azura has been whisking passengers away since April 2010, so its about time she was treated to a refit. It is said she will have modern, luxurious furniture, with bespoke finishing and elegant style. I cant wait to see her in August.

The prime focus is the bars, restaurants and cabins onboard as they are the main focus when on a cruise, allowing you to sip your cocktail in comfort and luxury.

Accommodation:

Cabins – New carpets and curtains as well as new desk chairs, sofa beds and headboards will add a cosier feel to your cabin. Wooden tones, neutral palettes and hints of blue will compliment each other giving a tranquil space. (See photo below)

Suites – Like the cabins there will be wooden tones with a neutral palette but, with soft lavender to add a balanced scheme situated across the new décor. The suites will also have new ceiling, bedside and reading lamps and more USB charger ports.

Restaurants:

Azura has a number of places to dine whilst onboard suiting everyone’s culinary desires. Below are the plans for each restaurant;

Sindhu – Housing modern styling of metallic elements paired with traditional fabrics, creating a rich, opulent atmosphere.

The Glass House – The home to Olly Smith’s wine bar will have geometric shapes and crisp lines all with energetic colours.

The Epicurean – This elegant restaurant will have neutral shades with chique finishing. Not to mention the fresh cushions and carpets with a splash of reddish tones to compliment the exotic spices. (See photo below)

Oriental Restaurant – A personal favorite main dining restaurant of mine. Having new carpets and furniture’s with floral patterns with pinks and greens, giving a traditional aesthetic.

Verona & Venezia – Known as the heart of the food, it is always stocked with delicious food to fill your hunger anytime of the day. Verona will have red-brick tones throughout with vertical tiles, whilst Venezia is set for beige and silver tiles with a splash of reflective and slender tiles.

Bars:

No matter the time of day (or night), the bars on Azura are always open to quench our thirst. Below are the plans for each bar;

Java – The coffee specialist whilst onboard will be spruced up with organic, rustic textures flavored with earthy tones.

Breakers Bar – If you are sunbathing or listening to live entertainment Breakers bar has it for you. Hitting the tropical theme, it will have blues, corals, sandy tones as accent colours on tiles and flooring. (See Photo below)

Manhattan Lounge – The go to hub for late night partying will have new carpet and upholstery inspired by city architecture and bold urban energy hosting vibrant colours.

Additional:

Loyalty and cruise sales desk will have an additional desk to help minimize wait times as well as, a brochure rack and additional digital screens. The shops will have more room to supply and sell Elemis skincare. Corridors which line the guest cabins will have new carpet. Public toilets around the ship will improved as well as work to the lifts onboard. Sunbathe on some brand ew furniture on the open-decks. All six whirlpools onboard will be replaced.

I cant wait to see this beautiful ship be refreshed and given a modern feel throughout the ship, in January it did seem outdated but with cruising everyday for 15 years it as in perfect condition. I will be on the ship in August so I look forward to putting up pictures and videos of all the work that has been done for her.
